In the B grade opener, the Brewers were their own worst enemy, with five fielding errors recorded officially in the box score and several more plays that could have been. With Bellingen’s help in the field, Woolgoolga cruised to a 16-5 win. Jon Lowe banged out three hits for the Brewers.
In the A grade feature that followed, after a scoreless first inning the fielding bug bit again, helping the Bluesox to a big eight-run second inning. The Brewers cut Woolgoolga's lead in half, scoring four times in their next turn at bat, the key blow a two out bases loaded triple by Cooper Bake-Smith. But Bellingen’s fielding woes continued, helping the Bluesox counter with four more runs in their next turn at bat, en route to a 13-6 win. Jeff Wilson had two hits and a walk for the Brewers.
The junior Brewers made the best show on the day, losing narrowly to the Allstars, 9-7. For the second week running Aiden Oliver was outstanding on the mound, allowing just one unearned run over two innings pitched with five strikeouts. Cam and Luke Greenwood each made nifty plays at second base and Luke Mitchell had a run-scoring hit.
