Pacific Highway has reopened in both directions at Nambucca Heads (north of Macksville) following a fatal truck and car crash.
The highway had been closed near Lumsden Lane with traffic being diverted through Macksville and Wirrimbi.
Diversions have now been lifted.
Southbound traffic remains heavy so motorists are advised to continue to allow extra travel time until traffic returns to normal.
There are no northbound delays on the highway.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 4am (Saturday October 7) and found a northbound B-double and a southbound sedan had collided in the northbound lanes.
A man driving the car died at the scene.
The truck driver was taken to Macksville Hospital suffering shock. He will also undergo mandatory tests.
The highway was closed for several hours while the site was examined and the wreckage was removed.
