The Bellingen Town Centre Beautification project foundation work in Oak Street and in front of the Purple Carrot is complete. Work will now begin on the eastern end of Waterfall Way / Hyde Street and Church Street, Bellingen.
Work to upgrade the existing water main is expected to commence in Hyde Street on Monday August 28 and take approximately 10 days to complete. Work will take place from outside the Windsong Travel Agent extending to the front of the Chilli Affair Restaurant.
While every effort will be made to reduce the impact to residents and businesses, there will be some interruption to water services at night during the final cut over. Council will engage with businesses to ensure their needs are considered when the cut over is to be done.
Pavement and kerb and gutter work is also scheduled to commence on the corner of Hyde and Church streets (in front of the Court House) on August 28. Work will then transfer to the opposite corner of Hyde and Church streets (in front of the Bellingen Green Grocer), on September 4, weather dependent.
All work will require traffic control with partial road closures in place. The community is urged to take care while work is underway and follow the directions of the traffic control teams.
Information regarding the project can be found on the Create website at http://create.bellingen.nsw.gov.au/create-bellingen-town-centre-beautification.
The Project is jointly funded by the NSW Government and Bellingen Shire Council.
