During Bellingen Shire Council's May monthly meeting, councillors unanimously ratified a number of changes in membership to the Section 355 Management Committees.

These being namely, the Australia Day Committee, the Bellingen Citizens Centre Management Committee, the Bellinger Valley Historical Society, the Burdett Park Management Committee, the Thora Hall Management Committee and the Urunga Recreation Reserve Management Committee.
Australia Day Management Committee
- Jo Brotherton was nominated onto the committee and accepted the nomination
Bellingen Citizens Centre Management Committee
- Mary Anderson was nominated onto the committee and accepted the nomination
Bellinger Valley Historical Society
- Karen Parkhill was nominated onto the committee and accepted the nomination.
Thora Hall Management Committee
- Shana Waugh was nominated onto the committee and accepted the nomination. Laurie Rosa and Gordon Manning resigned from the Thora Hall Management Committee.
Urunga Recreation Reserve Management Committee
- Roger McCabe and Alison Webb were nominated onto the committee and accepted the nomination. Ben Knobloch and Garry Matthews resigned from the Urunga Recreation Reserve Management Committee
Burdett Park Management Committee
- Andrew and Gael Tosio resigned from the Burdett Park Management Committee.
Council said ratifying the appointments of new members for the various committees “will have the economic implication of a cost effective way to manage community facilities and reserves and the social implications that community members are actively involved in managing facilities and reserves in their communities”.
“Encouraging the committees to manage facilities in an environmentally sensitive way will have positive environmental implications. In addition, the formal appointment of these members enhances good governance around these structures.”
Council said they will write to Andrew and Gael Tosio, Ben Knobloch, Garry Matthews, Laurie Rosa and Gordon Manning acknowledging and thanking them for their contribution to Section 355 committees.
