Jesse Alford, Brodie Young, Beau George and Lincoln Kellett were all selected to the Mid North Coast team at the end of Term 1 as part of the Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) team.
The boys travelled to Yamba to trial for selection in the North Coast 11’s and Open team and each played three games for the Mid North Coast against the Lower North Coast, Far North Coast and Northern Rivers.
Coaches and selectors put the boys through their paces early noting that individual performance and teamwork would be on the list of selection criteria.
Jesse had some tough play in the Open section against older, bigger boys. Brodie, Beau and Lincoln made up a large number of 11’s each playing well for the day. Brodie managed a second round game in the afternoon when the “possibles and probables” were narrowed down but unfortunately none of the boys made it through to the next level.
Congratulations boys on your performance and the addition of some extra football skills ready for the 2017 season. Jessie and Brodie both attend BPS and play for the Bellingen Dorrigo RLFC; Beau attends UPS and also plays for the Bellingen Dorrigo RLFC and Lincoln attends DPS playing for the Dorrigo Rangers RU Club.
