This play will be performed once only at Memorial Hall at 5 pm on Saturday 26th November. Two terms in the making, ‘Unnerved’ is a collection of short ghost tales, based on three of Paul Jennings’ short stories, ‘Spooks Incorporated’, ‘A Good Tip for Ghosts’ and ‘Know All’.
The play features three of the author’s best-known (and possibly most feared) characters, Nanny Chompers, The Ghost of the Headless Chicken and the scarecrow possessed by the spirit of the evil tightrope walker.
Not for the faint hearted, although the stories do also feature the author’s characteristic quirky sense of humour. Each of the tales will take the audience on a nail-biting ride before arriving at an ending with a twist. Regular audience goers to Bellingen Drama School’s production will recognise, once again, the group’s distinctive sense of the absurd.
As usual, the students have been given relatively free reign to interpret the stories and their characters in their own ways, a process that turns up often unexpected, but generally riotous, results.
So if you’re up for an evening of scares and laughs in equal measure, come along to Memorial Hall this Saturday evening and support some of the Shire’s young aspiring actors.
Entry is by donation.
Please note that this play does feature strobe lighting and has content that may be frightening for younger viewers.
