Police are searching for a prisoner who escaped from a minimum security facility in Glenn Innes overnight.

Steven Barber, 39, was last seen in a room within the minimum security correctional centre in Glenn Innes about 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 September 2016).
Just after 1am this morning (Wednesday 20 September 2016), correctional officers noticed that the window of his room was smashed and he was missing.
Mr Barber’s disappearance was reported to police from New England Local Area Command and a search of the area failed to locate him.
Steven Barber is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm to 185cm tall, about 80kg in weight, with a medium build, and short brown hair. He has tattoos of boxing gloves on his back, a tattoo of a snake on his left forearm and was last seen wearing a green prison uniform.
Investigations are underway to locate him and police are urging anyone with information, or anyone who knows the whereabouts of Steven Barber, to come forward.
