The celebrations included stalls, a morning tea, open house, music and other highlights.
More than 200 hundred former patients, friends, volunteers and local residents attended.
Guest of honour was MNCLHD Coffs Clinical Network Coordinator, Dr Theresa Beswick.
The garden has been a long term project of the MPS Advisory Committee under the direction of Chair, Bill Baggett and Nurse Manager, Lynn Forsyth.
The garden offers a place of quiet and reflection for residents of the Multi-Purpose Service and visitors
Its design and construction reflect familiar elements of life on the plateau: a windmill, water tank, battery of rural mail boxes, walks and beautiful gardens.
The Memorial Board records the names of past residents of the MPS.
