As a valued member of Bellingen Rotary, one of the last things that Marie Rowe organised before she died was to suggest that the Rotary Club of Bellingen to donate a sewing machine to our Stitched Up group.

Marie was a huge supporter of the youth in our town and had encouraged other machine donations over the years through the Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre.
Rotary will place a small plaque on the new machine to acknowledge this wonderful, generous, community minded lady.
Stitched Up started in August 2008. High school girls from Year 7 and up meet every Monday afternoon in the Bellingen Uniting Church hall from 3.30 to 5.30pm. Following a yummy home baked afternoon tea, the girls work on their projects – making clothes, up-cycling op shop items, embroidery, making quilts, beading, card making and many other creations with guidance from some very special older ladies.
Once a semester we enjoy a High Tea where the girls cook delicious food to serve their families at in the hall at 5.30pm. This is a chance for the girls and their families to show their appreciation to the wonderful ladies who encourage them in their creative endeavours and for the ladies to thank the girls for their inspiration!
