Running hot this season, Braves under 14 girls built on their already eight wins from eight games by easily defeating Tamworth Thunderbolts 79-24, Suns Black 90-19 and Taree Tornadoes 76-34 to sit comfortable on top of the NJL season ladder 11-0.
Next challenge for Braves 14 girls will be when they head south to Gosford over the June Queens Birthday long weekend when they will become the first ever Bellinger Valley basketball team to ever enter division one in the annual NSW Country Junior Tournament.
Braves have two under 14 boys teams playing in NJL this season, their A team currently unbeaten in division one and their second B team playing on division two weekends.
The B boys continue to improve winning two of their three games this weekend, rolling Taree Tornadoes 45-35 first game, dropping their second clash 24-69 against Port Macquarie Dolphins then bouncing back with a great victory over Tamworth Thunderbolts 70-31in their final test.
Like the Braves under 14 girls, Bellinger Braves under 16 boys maintained their exceptional 2016 playing record with a 75-40 win over Tamworth Thunderbolts, a strong 60-37 result against Ocean Shores Sharks and another super 76-34 winning performance against Armidale Lions.
Always close to the money, Braves under 18 boys went down 81-90 against Quirindi but improved their scoring to knock over Lismore Storm 66-46 to be sitting third on their NJL season ladder.
