The music, art and performance fair is on May 14 at the Bellingen Showgrounds, from 5 until late. The event will feature local artists and musicians showcasing their stuff, including a line-up of bands and solo artists, an art show, performance art and delicious food – so bring your appetite!
NCG is open to all, with members of the public welcome to pick produce by donation from the communally managed five acre veggie patch.
This means that everyone in the community, regardless of income, has access to fresh organic produce all year round. The gardens also provide opportunities for people to volunteer, undertake work for the dole obligations, work off fines, learn about organic gardening, buy seedlings, and just enjoy the space. The operations of the community gardens are not funded by grants or council – the committed volunteers work hard to both run the garden, and raise funds to run the gardens.
If you would like to support this fantastic project, come along to the Bellingen Showgrounds this Saturday for an afternoon of art, music and fun, all for a good cause.
