“I went over to have a good time, to learn something and have a new experience, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d win anything,” Miraciah said.
“I'm in between deciding what I'm going to do when I finish school. I also have a life dream of becoming a lawyer, but this has been a great kick-start to help me get into modelling, if that's what I want to do.”
Miraciah’s mother, Jessamine Briner, and grandmother, Joie Vanrenen, are long-term Bellingen residents, and in a wonderful link to history, her great-grandmother Rae Vanrenen (maiden name Hadden) was runner-up in the Miss Victoria competition.
“She’s very excited and the family is very proud of her,” Jessamine said.
“Thankfully she's a really level-headed young girl. She is beautiful both on the inside and out.”
Miraciah is now living with her father and his family in Queensland where she has four brothers.
The former local was the youngest entrant to the pageant after being selected as a wildcard by the World Supermodel Pageants International director of production, Terri Smith.
“Most of our delegates have come through as a participant because they have either won one of their local pageants or been in other competitions which secured them a spot in the pageant,” Ms Smith said.
“Miraciah, on the other hand, I put forward as a wildcard entry as I could see the potential she has and also I am in the process of signing her to MissTez management and thought it would be an amazing experience and learning curve for her.”
Throughout the process and while in Fiji, Miraciah was assisted and kept “under her wing” by step-mother, Sheree Rarasea.
And it’s this suppor, that her fiercly protective mother Jessamine hopes will give her daughter a wonderful opportunity to break into the modelling industry, while at the same time inspire other women who want to pursue a similar career.
“Miraciah will be accompanied by family members and about 100 bodyguards during her upcoming trip to South Africa,” she said.
