The body of work presented has been inspired by the colours of the coastal places Caroline has visited, not to mention her own home town, Urunga, which is a constant source of colour and joy.
This prolific textile artist also draws on her Australia-wide teaching trips that “saturate her with fringe colours”.
Caroline has been playing with colours and fabrics and stitching her textile creations for close to 20 years now and is a whiz at drawing with the sewing machine needle onto multi levels of fabric, thread and fibre.
Caroline Sharkey will have her work in the gallery from this Sunday.
All welcome to the opening at 5pm to hear some of the stories of how these works came into being.
