The Governor and Mrs Hurley were last in the region at the same time in 2015. His Excellency will attend the Matthew Locke Memorial Rugby League match in Bellingen and visit a wide range of organisations from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour.
“We enjoyed our visits to a Dorrigo diversified farming enterprise, the Coffs Harbour Conservatorium of Music, the Woolgoolga blueberry farm, the Bellingen EYE environment group, the Junaa Buwa Centre for Youth and Wellbeing and so much more,” the Governor said. “There are many more people that we want to meet and organisations we wish to visit.”
Starting in Port Macquarie, the Governor and Mrs Hurley will travel north through Kempsey before returning to Bellingen and Coffs Harbour.
The visit in March will continue the Governor’s regional visit program.
Over the course of this year, the Governor and Mrs Hurley undertook seven multi-day regional visits to country New South Wales. From the South Coast to the Central North, the Central West and the South West corner.
A further nine regional visits across New South Wales are already planned for 2016, cementing Governor Hurley’s commitment to engaging with communities right across the State.
The final Vice Regal program will be released closer to the time.
