"The beautiful little Shetland pony born on my family's farm just over two weeks ago has been stolen from Repton. If anyone spots her or knows anything please get in contact," Charmain posted on Facebook.
"As you can imagine her poor Mum is distraught and in pain as her milk is drying up. As the pony obviously hasn't been weaned off the teat she needs to be fed properly.
"My Dad has ponies in the paddock on Perry's Road for the enjoyment of the many families who come to take a look and have a pat everyday - whoever has done this has taken from the community as a whole".
Charmaine is adamant the foal must have been removed from the paddock as she said if a foal dies the mare will stand over it for couple days until it’s natural scent goes.
"Wild dogs kill for fun and mostly leave their kill on the farm; dingoes on the other hand kill for food. If it were a dingo, there would have beenevidence (blood etc) and the foal would have been dragged away - the mare will then follow the scent to the closest boundary of the fence and stand there for days. You can tell if it was killed by the actions of the mare," she said.
"My Dad also noticed the latch on the gate closest to the main road wasn’t connected properly".
Charmaine has called for her beloved pet to be returned: "Whoever it was can return the foal no questions asked".
