Drivers on the Waterfall Way are reminded there will trucks travelling between Dorrigo and Bellingen every seven minutes and that extra travel time should be allowed as a result.
The good news is that project finalisation has been brought forward to July this year, a welcome development for those most affected by the noise, dust and loss of amenity.
The community group, People with an Interest in Road Safety for the Waterfall Way, would like to thank all of those who worked alongside them in identifying critically needed road repairs and crisis points along the route.
In cooperation with Bellingen Shire Council and the Roads and Maritime Authority a Road Safety Action Plan is now in place.
The group has also worked with Lendlease and quarry owners to set up communication lines to monitor driver behaviour on Waterfall Way.
People are encouraged to report any incidents using the TIP number on the front of the truck, if possible.
Otherwise the colour, time and place of an incident can be used as all trucks are fitted with GPS and can be tracked.
Special thanks also goes to the many truck drivers who are respectful and careful of other road users.
To report an incident:
- phone 1800 800 612 (press ‘2’ to speak with a project representative)
- email nh2u@lendlease.com
- mail PO Box 506, Nambucca Heads, NSW, 2448.
