To that end, the group plans to engage with local business owners to help us identify what challenges are facing the shire - and what opportunities might be had.
"We are calling this project Restart Bellingen, as it will help establish the key priorities for the focus of recovery efforts. Our first step is to interview local business owners, and that's where you come in," team member Thea O'Connor said.
"We would like to interview you about your business, your experience of the restrictions and your ideas for the future."
"Please let us know if you are up for a 15 minute confidential phone call.
- We provide you with the interview questions before hand for consideration.
- The interview can be done in 15 - 20 minutes, depending how chatty you are!
- Your responses will be confidential and will not be disclosed to any others.
- The responses will only be reported in an aggregated form and will not be identifiable.
- You do not have to answer any questions that you are not comfortable with."
Along with Thea, the team comprises Libby Park (president, Chamber of Commerce), Hilary Cadman (BCOC secretary and Co-working Network co-organiser), Paul Harper and Tricia Helyar.
They will aim to match interviewers with businesses outside of their own industry to help ensure a comfortable conversation.
Meanwhile, the Co-working Network will put its meet-ups on hold in order to focus on this project.
