TWO teams from the one club played out the Under 16s Coffs Coast Hockey grand final at the weekend, and it took a thrilling goal in extra time to seal a 2-1 victory for Urunga Lightning over the Urunga Strikers.
Quinn Green opened the scoring for the Lightning but the resilient Strikers equalised through a goal from Oliver Rogers to send the game into overtime.
Both sides had their chances to score in the first five minutes of extra time but were denied by outstanding goal keeping.
Deep into the second half of extra time it was Phoenix Smith who broke the deadlock for the Strikers to secure a grand final victory over their Urunga compatriots.
