The girls knew it would be a hard game but as soon as they took to the field they dominated the opposition, feeding the ball out wide to Bonnie Malt with Indiana Brodbeck, Imogen Laverty and Prue Burnet controlling many important touches in the midfield.
The wind blowing across the field added some difficulty and we knew that the smaller sized field would not play to our strength, yet the girls held the offside line and Chantelle Kinloch did an amazing job as keeper.
The girls created many opportunities in the first half, receiving 6 corners to Coffs United's 0.
Both a handball in the box by a Coffs defender and goal scored by Mya Coltman over the line were missed by the referees but Bellingen were playing so well, it seemed like only a matter of time until the whistle blew in their favour.
The second half started in much the same fashion with Bellingen playing some great football.
However, it was not to be as Coffs capitalised on some unfortunate miscommunication in defence which lead to them scoring in the last ten minutes.
Despite Bellingen outplaying the opposition overall, the game finished 2-0 to Coffs United.
We couldn't be more proud of a team who played most of their games this season with 10 or 11 players.
Thankyou to the 12s girls who helped the team out this year, and well done to everyone on an amazing season!
