Proud coach Marc Bowd said the girls put the pressure on from the start, tackling with determination, and did not let up.
"The scores were even at half time but in the third quarter we broke free, scoring 3 or 4 unanswered goals," Marc said.
"While it is true that Sawtell were down their best player, the win was well deserved, thanks to the massive team effort the girls put in. Every one played well.
"In training last week I just kept telling them that they could do it ... they really believed they could win and they came through.
"Tehahni Berger scored four goals, Deja Barlow and Bonny Malt were strong in the centre and Izzy Sheppard was great in defence, as was everyone else."
Marc thanked the girls for their efforts throughout the season, with a special mention to those who are leaving.
"Thanks for a great season - we are sorry to see you go."
The Bulldogs team, which has girls aged between 14 and 17 years, only started last year but this is their second grand final. They were beaten by Grafton last year.
