The artists, Penel Gamble, Carol Simons, Chetan Bloemhard, Carole Helman and Sandy Robinson all use different media to express the inspiration nature gives them ...
Penel's exquisitely detailed paintings and drawings shimmer with stories while Carol's wide ranging style embodies spontaneity, moving from atmospheric impressionism to bold interpretations.
Chetan uses acrylics to explore the connection between the seen and the unseen in the natural world while Carole's paintings, drawings, prints and photographs reflect her fascination with patterns in nature, of leaves, lichens, rocks, trees.
Organic ceramic forms are Sandy's mode of expression, finished by natural firings and glazing techniques that connect them with the earth.
'A Natural Selection' is a stunning collective of visual art that opens at Bellingen's Nexus Gallery on Sunday, August 16 at 3pm.
And complementing this exhibition is 'String of Pearls' by glass artist Chris Fahey in the studio gallery next door.
The exhibition will continue until September 11. The gallery is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
