Markets manager Kaz Selbie said the committee had worked tirelessly over the past few months towards providing a COVID-safe environment for the market to continue as "not just a marketplace but a great place to be".
"We have reviewed current situations developing around the country, along with our capacity and responsibility towards the Bellingen Shire community and its many visitors," Kaz said.
"As BCM can draw crowds of up to 5000 people from a 500km radius, it is with regret we have decided to cancel the August 2020 market.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
