Urunga artist Laura Daniel is offering works in a wide variety of media, from painting and sculpture to history and poetry books she has written, as well as songs she has composed.
Laura's exhibition, 'Bits and Pieces', showcases the diversity of her techniques and subjects. She has travelled widely, living and working in several countries in the Pacific, Asia, Europe and America. Laura now lives in Urunga.
Marlene Griffin's 'East Meets West' is totally different and is the result of lessons she took in Malaysia with the well-known Oriental Brush Painting artist, Madam Hong.
Her exhibition features oriental techniques and subjects she explored as a student recently.
Marlene will be donating funds raised from sales to support refugees and their children living in NSW via the Asylum Seeker Centre, an organisation that coordinates food, clothing accommodation and other basic necessities for families in increasingly desperate circumstances.
The ASC has been active in recent weeks delivering food to the families in lockdown in the public housing tower blocks in Melbourne.
She will also be giving a short presentation at the morning tea about the basic differences between Eastern and Western Art .
The exhibitions will continue until Friday, August 28.
The morning tea is free, will be at the Stringer Gallery (next to the post office in Nambucca Heads) and starts at 10am.
It will be organised to take account of COVID 19 regulations.
The gallery is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 3pm and on Saturday mornings from 9.30am until noon.
