In Penrith, a pregnant midwife was verbally abused at the McDonald's drive-through. Nurses from Royal North Shore hospital were abused for boarding a train in their scrubs and for buying groceries at Coles.
It isn't just happening in New South Wales, every day there are news reports of abuse towards hospital workers in every state.
It isn't just the hospital workers who are being abused though. A supermarket worker had her eyes gouged after a customer refused to follow social distancing measures.
Around the world, people have been applauding, showing their gratitude, to those working on the frontline.
Clap for Our Carers began on March 29 in the UK when citizens emerged from their homes at 8pm and applauded the NHS workers ... it has been repeated every Thursday at 8pm since, with the entire nation taking part.
Now it is time for Australia to follow suit.
Let's show our support for those who are risking their health by working at hospitals, be it doctors, nurses and the cleaners; those working at supermarkets to keep the shelves full and delivering groceries when we are stuck inside; to those delivering food through Deliveroo and UberEats.
While there have been reports of Australians helping out hospital workers by providing them with groceries, not every Australian can afford to do this ... which is why this Saturday, April 18 at 8pm Australia will have its own AUS Clap For Our Carers event.
The Facebook link for the event is: https://www.facebook.com/events/254593095934123.
Join us on Saturday evening when we all put your hands together in a massive show of support for our frontline workers
