This sign greeted Boggy Creek Rd residents over the Easter break and this journalist felt it was a shout out of thanks.
Bellingen Shire General Manager, Liz Jeremy, said it was her understanding the sign was erected to assure our community that some works which had been temporarily suspended would be completed in the near future.
"It was motivated by an understanding of the disruption our community has faced in recent times around drought, flood, fire and now COVID-19," Mrs Jeremy said.
"Currently council is enacting its disaster and business continuity plans in terms of our workforce.
"At the current time the majority of council works and services are still being delivered to our community and in accordance with government requirements a large number of our staff are working remotely or providing services differently.
"Some examples of these alternative services are the click and collect service operating from our library, the Bellingen Visitor Information Centre operating as a Business Information Centre and the Youth Hub hosting the Pandemic Response Group."
She said that as a provider of essential services including water, wastewater, waste, roads etc, operational staffing arrangements had been reconfigured to accommodate social distancing requirements and adherence to the public health orders.
"These arrangements are commonplace across local government workforces."
