As more and more events are cancelled and travel restrictions become ever tighter due to the coronavirus, Bellingen's well-attended Autumn Plant Fair on Saturday may well have been the community's last big event for a while.

Large numbers came out on what was a rare sunny day, taking the opportunity to catch up with friends (no sign of reduced hugging here) and purchase plants, many of which will replace those lost in the summer fires.
The donation buckets were being generously filled and the raffle ticket sales were brisk.
The initiative to help with bin education was appreciated and a conversation starter with many patrons.
"At previous events we have noticed that people are not always sure what to do, so this helps raise awareness ... we try to make each fair better and better," volunteer Maaike Lauwerens said.
