More than 90 seniors came along to North Beach Bowling Club to enjoy a day of entertainment, guest speakers and refreshments.
Guest speakers included Chris Bryant from the RFS, who spoke about emergency preparedness. He was joined by representatives from the Mid North Coast Local Health District who shared handy tips for navigating the aged care system, falls prevention and strategies for improving mental health.
Nomad the Magician and Ron Foster were on the entertainment menu with the Sawtell Ukulele group rounding off the afternoon with an Elton John medley.
At Dorrigo Library on February 21, local pre-school children listened to stories read to them by seniors from the community, shared morning tea and enjoyed a dramatic rendition of The Gruffalo.
The Mayor, Dominic King, said intergenerational events had proven popular in Dorrigo with the old and the young sharing their love of reading and books.
"It's important that as a community we acknowledge and celebrate the contribution made by our older people and it's by sharing their wisdom and learning from their experiences that we can help shape a better community for everybody." Cr King said.
Many thanks to everyone who participated and made the events possible.
