As well as a fun team event, there were also some individual challenges available to enter for a further small donation, plus a sausage sizzle and refreshment stations on the course.
We also held a monster raffle, with all prizes supplied by local businesses and individuals who donated gifts, vouchers, services and even weekend breaks in a wonderful show of generosity. The day went off spectacularly well despite the wet ground and a short rain shower just before the finish.
Fifteen teams of four battled it out for the honours and there were some fine scores. The winners were Team Bellingen Cellars - Mark Parsons, Rhys Bonventi, Michael Urquhart and Anaan Van Leeuwen who took home the top prize over 1st runner-up Team Burley and 2nd runner-up Team Hulbert.
Nobody who entered won the "Beat the Pro" test on the 3rd, although a couple of players may well be regretting not backing themselves now! Nearest the Pin prizes were taken by Rhys Bonventi, Keiran Mathews and Shane Freeman, with the Straightest Drive (Men) awarded to Chris Phillips and the Straightest Drive (Women) going to Marg Girdwood.
Winning prizes and having fun were not the main aims of the day, however - our primary concern was to raise some money to help local bushfire recovery projects.
It appears we have raised in the order of $4000 when all pledges are realised. This is fantastic - a huge thanks to all our donors, volunteers and staff who helped the day go so well.
The official sum of money raised, plus a full list of donors will be available on our Facebook page and website when details are finalised.
