After a huge 2019 with over 200 live shows and a string of festival headline slots, they are hitting the road in 2020 to share a swag of new material.
A well cultivated touring phenomenon featuring the killer rhythm section of TK Dread on bass and Hugh Jones on drums, the band showcases the words and music of songsmith Jesse Morris. There's live dubs from reggae legend Marky Power plus multi instrumentalists Elena Marcigot and Chelsea Skyeater on sax, clarinet, flute, melodica and backing voices.
Jesse Morris and the Shakedown draw inspiration from an overflowing pot of styles with a heavy lean towards music from Africa and the Caribbean.
Every show takes you on a genre-journey through soul, roots, dub, funk, rock, dancehall, sunshine reggae and afro-jazz. Pulsating beats, lyrical mantras, hypnotic rhythms and four-part harmonies. A celebration of roots culture and island vibrations.
Pre sale tickets are $10 via sticky tickets or $15 on the door.
