When Jan Hogan's children asked her what she'd like to do for her 80th birthday, she whittled it down to two quite different experiences.

"A cruise up the river at Nambucca for morning tea. Or jump out of a plane," she told them.
So the family went ahead and made the booking with Coffs Skydivers.
Asked whether she wanted "a short drop or a long drop", Jan opted for the long one - jumping from 15,000 feet with a full minute of freefall before landing on the beach.
Jan was full of praise for instructor Wiley Cochrane, who was strapped on her back.
"He was just delightful. He told me exactly what to do and what he has to do.
"Like how we have to tumble out of the plane before the parachute can be opened because otherwise it will come in contact with the plane.
"It all happened very quickly once we started coming down."
Kerry Weldon from Coffs Skydivers said they get a lot of people celebrating 'big' birthdays.
"But I'd estimate we only have two each year celebrating their 80th birthdays. And it's probably a 50/50 split between males and females.
"Jan was our first for 2020. She was very excited and didn't appear nervous at all."
Jan's four children, seven grandchildren and assorted friends came along to watch her fall from the sky on Saturday February 1.
"It was absolutely fantastic," Jan said. "People think I'm strange because I chose to do it at 80 but I would highly recommend it for anyone who has the internal fortitude.
"You just float down, once your parachute opens up. And haven't we got a beautiful coastline! It was stunning looking down."
Jan said she was athletic when she was young, and used to love line dancing, but is not involved in any sporting activities these days.
However, she's a keen traveller and enjoys trying new things.
She loves Australia's inland and on one of her trips she took a helicopter flight around Uluru.
"It didn't perturb me at all that I was going to jump out of a plane," Jan said. "I like adventure.
"I don't even know what gave me the idea of doing it. I just wanted to do something that was a challenge for me."
