Thanks to the beautiful rain that fell last week, NSW RFS Mid North Coast Team report that not a lot has changed on the northern and eastern fronts of the Andersons Creek fire in the last few days with the fire quietly burning internally and smouldering.

On Monday windy conditions did however see some more activity, especially in the southern area around Bellbucca Rd.
Crews there are said to be actively firefighting to prevent the fire from crossing that road.
RFS , State Forests and NPWS crews are actively monitoring the fire fronts and have advised the forest is again drying out and the fire will possibly become more active towards the end of the week, with Thursday being the predicted peak day.
In Kalang the fire is contained between wet gullies, creeks and roads and no backburning is planned, however this strategy might change depending on what happens in the coming days.
In Darkwood, crews and heavy plant are working on strengthening containment lines and helicopters are being used to map runs and find hot spots.
The local Incident Management Team is working closely with their counterparts in Kempsey who are managing the Carrai East fire, which is in Upper Taylors Arm/Thumb Creek and Five Day areas to the south of the Andersons Creek fire.
Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Wednesday is for a partly cloudy day with temperatures in the mid to high 20s. Winds are expected to be light becoming SE 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day then tending E in the evening.
From Thursday through to Sunday temperatures are predicted to be in the low to mid 30s and winds will increase. There is a slim chance of some rain on Sunday and some showers predicted for Monday.
Advice from the RFS continues to be to monitor conditions and check your bush fire survival plan.
If you do not have a plan, you need to decide what you will do if the situation changes - leaving early is the safest option.
RFS has repeated their call requesting no unauthorised fires be lit, as this can compromise the safety of ground crews and other residents in the area.
Heavy plant is in use in many area and motorists are requested to drive to the conditions.
