Bellingen Shire Council Mayor, Cr Dominic King, said that nominations for the Australia Day Awards would re-open until Friday, December 20 and could be submitted online via Council's Create website, posted or hand delivered to Council's Bellingen Administrative Centre.
Cr King said the Australia Day Awards provided our community with a fantastic opportunity to recognise examples of outstanding achievement across the two remaining award categories.
"I think it's important that we take the time to acknowledge the young members of our community who give their time freely throughout our Shire to help others and to recognise those who have demonstrated commitment in artistic endeavours."
Cr King said Australia Day Award Winners would be announced at a community event on Friday, January 24 at the Memorial Hall in Bellingen, 6.30pm.
"The Awards Ceremony will have something for everybody including a Welcome to Country, live musical performances, finger food and light refreshments and a visit by an official Australia Day Council Ambassador."
