Victoria Police officers are preparing to plaster slogans over their vehicles, warn drivers about speed cameras and walk children to school while they fight for a pay increase.

That's in contrast to their usual "revenue" work for the government, the police union says.
Officers have overwhelming voted for industrial action to try to get a more than two per cent wage increase, with the final Australian Electoral Commission result of the members' vote due this week.
Union and government representatives will meet on Tuesday to try to strike a deal.
If there is no resolution, officers are expected to then choose which of 51 actions to take, including warning drivers to slow down near fixed and mobile cameras.
"What you are likely to see is police cars sitting in front of fixed camera locations warning motorists of their location thus, slowing the traffic down, making the roads a safer place," Mr Gatt said.
"It will slow them down, but it will significantly reduce revenue for the Victorian state government."
The state government is open to budging from its two per cent wage cap policy if improvements and savings can be found.
"It's two per cent but it can be more if we can find ways where we can deliver services better, where we can embed reform as part of our enterprise bargaining process," Premier Daniel Andrews said.
"That is an open-ended part of this, but it's got to be real savings, it's got to be self-funding."
Work continues between the parties to find efficiencies, better productivity and improvements, and to land an agreement within the government's wages policy.
