Bellingen Shire Council Mayor, Cr Dominic King, said groups wanting to deliver, develop or contribute towards local environmental projects and initiatives were encouraged to apply for grants to the maximum value of $5,000.
"We're inviting applications for local projects carried out on public land, or land that is readily accessible to the public, that focus on invasive plant and biodiversity management activities, coastline and river management projects, sustainable food production practices and climate change initiatives," Cr King said.
"I also encourage community groups who are successful, to apply for external funding grants where possible to maximise their funds and deliver the best environmental outcomes."
Please note applications close Sunday, November 10 (midnight) and applicants must review Council's Environmental Levy Community Fund Guidelines available at https://www.bellingen.nsw.gov.au/environment-waste/environmental-levy-and-community-grants.
Prior to submission please contact the River & Biodiversity Officer, Amanda Carter, on 6655 7300.
