Australia's top medical body has backed a joint statement from all state and territory health officials about the link between vaping and lung disease.

Australian Medical Association president Dr Tony Bartone's warning comes after the seventh vaping-related death in the United States.
Dr Bartone on Wednesday said the government needed to take a precautionary approach to e-cigarettes, with the devices proving popular with young Australians.
"Young people need to be educated and assisted to resist the clever advertising and marketing for e-cigarettes - it is just a smokescreen," Dr Bartone said.
Just last week, Australia's chief medical officer and health officers for every state and territory said emerging evidence between vaping and lung disease should be a cause for concern.
"All Australian governments are united in maintaining a precautionary approach to the marketing and use of e-cigarettes," their joint statement said.
"International evidence is emerging of a possible link between the use of e-cigarettes and lung disease."
Health Minister Greg Hunt has previously agreed to establish an independent inquiry into the use of e-cigarettes.
