This one-day workshop will provide the maintenance and management schedule for the year in your orchard.
Horticultural specialist and experienced facilitator, Angus Deans, will share his skills in biodynamic farm management, orcharding and regenerative agriculture.
Bellingen's local biodynamic agriculture team will be on hand to further discuss biodynamic practices, other treatments and results that can be achieved.
Topics to be covered include:
- yearly biodynamic programme for the orchard
- how to apply the biodynamic preparations
- making and using farm based fertilisers
- sward management and mulching
- grafting, budding
- summer pruning and schedule for year
- fruit tree selection
- pest and disease control, netting
- harvesting
- care and use of tools
Bring along your problems. We may be able to provide a solution. Bring along your solutions too, as you may be able to help someone out. The workshops are as much about learning as they are about teaching.
Morning tea will be provided. The workshop starts at 8.30am and runs until 3pm at Possumwood Farm, 92 Mahers Lane, Bellingen. Bring our own lunch.
