NSW RFS Mid North Coast reports that it is 50 per cent contained.
They said firefighters would remain active in the Moonpar areas, continuing the strategic backburning off Moonmerri and Wiriri Rd.
"Firefighters and aircraft will continue to patrol the backburn in the Moonpar Rd area. There were no spot overs in this area yesterday and the backburn has secured the area from fire burning down to the road.
"Heavy plant will continue to link containment between Dyamberin Rd and Paddys Land Rd."
A basecamp to house firetrucks and firefighters has been established at the Dorrigo Polocrosse Fields.
Very high fire dangers are forecast across the areas impacted by the Bees Nest fire over the weekend and into next week.
With potential for strong NW winds and warm temperatures returning next week, residents should know what they will do if the fire threatens, the RFS said.
