Fully funded by the federal government's Building Better Regions Fund, the program will start on Tuesday September 24 with a tour of river catchment areas.
The tour will visit multiple sites to investigate the ecological, social and cultural values of the Bellinger and Kalang rivers.
Participants will then meet at Bellingen Youth Hub on Wednesday September 25 to develop action plans that help protect the rivers for future generations.
During October and November, participants will attend after school workshops to develop specific skills that enable them to implement their environmental action plans.
The workshops are designed to be fun and engaging and will be delivered by local community members who have specialist skills in photography, digital communication, event management and public speaking.
Throughout the workshops, participants will be given the opportunity to try out their new skills in a variety of fun and innovative ways.
OzGREEN's CEO, Anton Juodvalkis said the program seeks to provide young people with concrete skills to address their environmental concerns.
"Young people are really worried about the future of the environment and our program is specifically designed to empower them to develop and implement solutions," he said.
