Bellingen High School fielded seven teams that took the field against those from Tamworth, Armidale, Bulahdelah and Taree.
The 19s girls were undefeated in the preliminary matches scoring a total of 22 goals for and 10 against, putting them in first place and in the final against Hastings Secondary College (a combined campus of both Port Macquarie HS and Westport HS).
Hastings felt the full force of this Bellingen team that unleashed eight unanswered goals and held on to their top ranking for another year.
The 16 years girls had three convincing wins and two relatively tight loses in the preliminary rounds. They scored 21 goals for with 14 against, leaving them in third place.
They played strongly against Oxley HS in the semi leading at half time 1-0 but Oxley bounced back in the second half and won 3-1.
The 14 years girls were the dominant team in their pool winning their three preliminary games convincingly, scoring 24 goals for and only 3 against.
They played St Columba Anglican School in their semi final in what was a one-sided game to watch with the Bellingen girls taking many shots but not hitting the net ... except for one that did go in but the referee did not see it!
Frustration set in and the ball still did not want to cross that line, then on a fast break the opposition got one in and that was to be the final score 0-1. A hard learning curve for the girls!
The 13s girls played their final against Camden Haven High School 13s (who beat St Columba 14s 3-0) and showed their dominance smashing five unanswered goals with a hat trick to Zara O'Connor. A great result for a champion team.
Overall the 13s and 19s girls were champions and the 14s and 16s girls came third in a competition that sees them growing stronger every year.
