Grab a coffee and wander around the hectare of forested parkland and soak up the atmosphere while collecting your plants, then take a seat and try the exotic foods while listening to live acoustic music, or sit in on a workshop to learn how to add to your garden.
This year we have several Landcare groups available to talk to you about your farm reafforestation project, riverbank protection or to get information on managing weeds or plant pests. We have several rainforest nurseries too with local species, perfect to create a magical backyard forest or gully rainforest on your property.
The Plant Fair Coordinator, Clayton Colmer, is looking forward to this event, "Spring is by far our biggest fair, and it just keeps getting bigger and better. We have over 100 stalls now, so we have had to expand out into the Park Street end of the fair. "
"My personal favourite is the handcrafted waste-hardwood nest boxes, where Microbats to Black Cockatoos can have an instant home without waiting 200 years for a natural hollow to form!"
For several years now, the Plant Fair has been joined by the Bellingen Growers Market, who bring with them an extra 20 stalls showcasing the best locally grown, fresh and spray free produce from around the region.
The Bellingen Spring Plant Fair starts at 8am in Market Park, Bellingen on Saturday 14th September 2019. Email enquiries or become a volunteer by emailing bellingenplantfair@gmail.com or phone 0475 743 851.
