In the aftermath of the tragic Christchurch shootings in March this year, Dr Jenks has become a familiar figure on national television speaking of compassion and social inclusion. As Dean of Christchurch Cathedral, Grafton, Dr Jenks was at the forefront of community healing.
Dr Jenks is an Australian religion scholar and author with a doctorate from the University of Queensland. Prior to his appointment in Grafton, Dr Jenks was Dean of St George's College in Jerusalem.
His connections with the biblical lands go back several decades thereby enabling him to develop many friendships with Muslims in the Middle East and to be instrumental in leading inter-faith dialogue. As a scholar of some note he is also the author of several academic texts.
The lecture will be delivered on August 9 at Bishop Druitt College theatre commencing at 7pm. All are welcome. Supper will follow.
