Gina, our president, told us some funny jokes and read a hilarious Australian poem about Christmas in a nursing home. I'll never think of Christmas in quite the same way again!
Our special guest was Kim Connolly from Tiny Habitat Homes who told us about her innovative tiny houses which can be placed into someone's back yard.
These houses are as big as a caravan but more spacious because of the higher ceilings. Many people, especially older women, are interested in these as a viable alternative to renting or homelessness.
Our next VIEW Club meeting is August 19 with Guest Speaker, author Annie Seaton.
On August 21 we are planning an outing to the Lookout Mountain Retreat in Dorrigo for morning tea. Please ring Anne Hickey on 6655 8674 or Anne Epstein on 6655 9073 for more information.
Through the Smith Family the Bellinger Valley VIEW Club supports Learning for Life students. Educational packages also help to develop reading and numeracy skills for school children who need encouragement and support.
