It was a fine sunny day with a light breeze, ideal for athletics.
The results on the day were fantastic especially for some of the younger competitors who displayed some amazingly courageous runs fighting to the finish line!
The results indicate that 35 students have qualified for the North Coast Carnival to be held in Coffs Harbour again on Thursday August 8.
Special mention goes to the age champions - being the best athletes out of the nine schools in our zone:
13 years girls champion - Lulu McGrath
17 years+ girls champion - Willow Neal
12 years boys champion - Josh Upsall
13 years boys champion - Anthony Heather
The future certainly looks bright with these young champions!
The relay teams were also amazing:
13 years girls relay team - 1st Lulu McGrath, Yasmin Ball, Tiara Salmon, Jayme Garrett
14 years girls relay team - 1st Pixie Hill, Serenity Ellacott, Paige Keough, Lily Targett
16 years girl relay team - 2nd Holly Pagulayan-McCabe, Emily Kilpatrick, Codi Denham, Emmaline Bowes
17 years+ girls relay team - 2nd Willow Neal, Emily Ruming, Jessica Bailey, Sophie Keough
14 years boys relay team - 2nd Kyan Upsall, Djarrah Clark, Anthony Heather, Max Crackenell
17 years+ boys relay team - 2nd Hudson Brown, Dalton Bailey, Michael White, Will Thomas
Some awesome results but none better individually than Lulu McGrath, 13, winning the 15 years and under Triple Jump, jumping 10.19m, the biggest jump by a girl all day!
The best team result was the 14 years girls relay that was so close only the video of the finish could separate the first three teams.
The Bello girls came in first thanks to an extraordinary lunge on the line by Paige Keough to get the judge's nod.
