Winner of the coveted award "The Most Mongrel Looking Dog of the Day" was little Pip, a four-month-old pup who is a mixture of Coolie and Smithfield and possibly other influences as well, owned by the Fitzgerald family.
The first prize in the dress-ups section went to Charlotte Wilkins and Trooper in matching skirts.
But as usual, every dog won a prize, because as the schedule says "we love them all".
In the Partner Carrying competition, the frontrunners were Dylan Hedges and his wife Peta, who whizzed around the obstacle course in 23.26 seconds, beating second-place getters Charlotte and Stewart by 19/100 of a second.
Dylan also won last year, with his friend Alana Flemming, and they are off to the World Wife Carrying Championships in June after winning the national title in Singleton.
That makes two national champions that Bellingen has sent to Finland - Adrian and Amanda Betts being the first.
