They qualified for the final by defeating Dorrigo High 10-1 and Woolgoolga High 4-0 in the first two rounds of the statewide knockout competition.
Their opponents, Coffs Harbour, qualified by defeating CHEC 1-0 and Toormina 2-1. The final, however, was going to prove by far more difficult for the young Jetty team.
The Bellingen girls took the field determined to give their best. Straight away the girls showed their dominance, breaking the defence and setting up opportunities to score.
It was just over two minutes into the game when Ashley Sticker finished with a great left-footed shot past the keeper into the corner of the goal.
The game was never in doubt with many opportunities to score seeing the game blow out to a massive 12-2 score-line by the finish. A total of seven different players scored goals, displaying the depth of talent in this team.
The girls now have to take on Wauchope High (winners of the Lower North Coast zone) in their next game to be played at Connell Park at 11am on Tuesday May 28. This will definitely a good game to watch!
