The brainchild of three local theatre practitioners and scriptwriters, 3Wyz Wimmin Theatre Company wants to showcase the work of local playwrights, produce theatre where audience and actors are up close and personal and take productions to the people by staging them in local halls.
The company is calling for the submission of scripts. They are to be monologues or one-act plays, with a maximum performance time of ten minutes and a minimum of props. Several of these short pieces will be put together as a whole production planned for October.
3Wyz Wimmin will be conducting a one-day script development workshop in the community hall at Faringdon Village on Saturday 1 June, beginning at 9.30 am.
Playwrights are invited to submit scripts by May 24.
Actors who would like to be part of the workshop as well as future productions are also invited to participate.

Playwrights whose scripts are selected for workshopping will be required to pay $25 for the day's workshop. Playwrights whose scripts are not selected are invited to come free of charge for the day to observe and learn from the process, and actors (plus budding actors) are also invited to participate free of charge.
This unique opportunity to be part of the development of grassroots theatre should not be missed.
