Grafton showed us early that they meant business with five unanswered goals in the first quarter. The girls worked hard in defence and Demi Bowd was relentless in the back line.
Without any interchange the girls understandably became tired but to their credit they never gave up. Emily Sutherland demonstrated some outstanding smothering of the ball and Sal Selim's aggressive tackling was instrumental in giving the girls some possession.
It was an impressive display by a young team. Eight of our 12 girls are 13 years or under, while Grafton had four 17 year-olds and five 16 year-olds.
The score line didn't reflect how close the contest actually was.
Good effort girls!
