Pennants are over for another year and Urunga is highly excited by their Grade 2 side in bringing home the gold flag. Also well done to the Grade 4 side who finished in equal second place and to the 4-a-Side girls who played well and gained valuable experience in this type of competition.

Urunga sends its congratulations to the winners of the other grades - Park Beach Grade 1, Nambucca Heads Grade 3, Macksville Grade 4 and Scotts Head 4-a-Side. Thanks to the managers - Jean Dew, Bev Mann and Brenda Fane and to Noela McCabe and Colleen Duncan for all their behind the scenes work.
The year's program has now resumed with the first matches in the major singles played last Thursday. Current champion Jo Bathgate scored a comfortable win over Lorraine Carlon 25/9. It was a close contest between Kath McPhail and Bev Cloake until the latter stages with Kath surging ahead at the end to win 26/16.
The sheet is now on the board for the major triples with entries closing May 2 and play starting May 9. Also keep an eye on the board for District events.
Congratulations go to two of Urunga's most excited bowlers, Margaret Safe and Robyn Adams (pictured), who scored an elusive 8-pin last Thursday.
Entries are now being received for the Camellia Carnival to be held on the Queen's Birthday weekend Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June. To ensure a place in the carnival it is not too soon to organise your team and send your entry in.
