Ms Jenvey ran a long and committed campaign, and secured 20.4 per cent of the primary vote, and 34.5 per cent on a two candidate preferred basis.
The Nambucca Shire councillor, Valla resident and enthusiast for the arts, said Labor had campaigned on jobs, tourism, climate change and renewable energy.
But she said an "enormous" advertising campaign for Mrs Pavey and State Government "pork barreling" had seen Oxley a Nationals hold.
Ms Jenvey celebrated the end of the campaign with supporters at the Ocean View Hotel at Urunga.
She said Country Labor would now look to hold Mrs Pavey and the Coalition to account over the next term.
Ms Jenvey said the Government's budget was dependent on sales tax on houses, and if they didn't make good on their promises "people will have their cricket bats ready next time".
And on her own campaign to wrest Oxley: "It was exhilarating. It was a rollercoaster at times. But I fell in love with the towns and the people. It was fascinating."
