Free native seedlings will be handed out to residents who help with the fly-out count, and light refreshments will be provided.
The event will be held at the river end of Church St from 6.30 to 7.30pm.
This initiative is part of the council's Bellingen Island Flying Fox Camp Management Plan, which aims to increase understanding and awareness of flying-fox conservation within the community.
Outcomes of the plan include development of a brochure, web page, heat stress event guidelines, a series of community workshops and new interpretive signage.
This signage will be unveiled at the end of Church Street overlooking Bellingen Island and the flying fox camp.
